1. Mitchell Scott "Mountain Culture Scribe" Workshop
Ink-lines and Powder Prose
Presented and hosted by Mitchell Scott (Kootenay Mountain Culture Magazine, Adventure Storytelling, Powder Magazine, etc), this workshop will lead aspiring and established writers alike through the backwoods and front-country of the Kootenays’ own favourite mountain culture scribe. Join Mitchell as he shares the inside line on getting your foot in the door (and keeping it there) as a locally based writer with international ties.

2. Kari Medig "Capturing the details of adventure and expedition photography: a photojournalists approach"
Under the Lens Cap
Photo-journalist Kari Medig who won the "pro photo shoot out" at Whistler in 2008 shares his thoughts and experiences on capturing the details in adventure and expedition photography. Describing his creative process and imparting his joint approach as both artist and technician to workshop attendees, Kari helps illustrate what it takes to create not just beautiful images, but a sustainable career path as a professional photographer with work published around the world.
